SAHA SHOW PICTURES 2015
Allotment Week 10th to 16th August 2015
The three events for this week were a talk by Andy Garland from Radio KMFM, the judging of Best Plots and the evening picnic. Andy gave an excellent talk and slide show which was enjoyed by everyone, covering his experiences of his plot with the Sevenoaks Allotment Holders Association and the ups and downs of an allotmenteer. A very interesting and entertaining evening.
The best plots were judged to be as follows:
YEW TREE PLOTS 10 rods 44/44a Paul and Debbie Robinson
5 rods 46 Kim Johns and Sarah Puttock
Best newcomer 90 Jason Edwards
RIDGEWAY 10 rods 25/27 Roger Walsh
5 rods 20a Sue Ellman and Mireille Marchant
Best newcomer 28a
The picnic in the evening was well attended but the weather was not really ideal for a picnic so may have put some allotmenteers off attending. Hopefully next year the weather will be better as this is an ideal chance for everyone to get together and chat about the year so far with all the varied successes and failures we have experienced.

17th,May, 2015 Open Day and Plant sale.
Following our Open Day and Plant Sale on the 17th May, 2015, the Southborough Allotment Society were pleased to present a cheque for £36.50 to the Primrose Project in Rusthall from some of the proceeds of plants sold on behalf of the Project.
The cheque was handed over to Judy Sullivan, Project Leader by Jay Moore, SAHA Chairman and Horticultural Support Worker at the Primrose Project.
The Primrose Project is a Pepenbury service providing social and therapeutic benefits for people with a disability. Primrose is based on an extensive allotment plot in Rusthall, Tunbridge Wells. The project has two poly tunnels and several raised beds and provides a range of gardening related activities. People taking part in the project learn about food production, the value of healthy eating and the growing cycle from seed to table.
Members of the public are welcome to visit and to purchase plants directly from Primrose at a very reasonable price.
Attached is a photo taken today of the presentation of the cheque to Judy Sullivan.
